Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and repair equipment in our food and beverage production facility. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of sanitary design principles, and experience working with high-speed packaging and processing machinery. The ideal candidate will ensure equipment reliability while adhering to strict food safety and regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on processing equipment, packaging lines, conveyors, pumps, and mixers.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to minimize downtime.
  • Install and align machinery components, including bearings, shafts, and gearboxes.
  • Maintain compliance with FDA, USDA, and food safety regulations during all maintenance activities.
  • Inspect and replace worn or damaged parts using precision tools and measuring instruments.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure equipment meets operational and sanitation standards.
  • Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate records for audits.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 3–5 years as a maintenance mechanic in food and beverage manufacturing or similar regulated environment.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
    • Familiarity with sanitary design principles and CIP (Clean-In-Place) systems.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Understanding of HACCP, GMP, and food safety compliance.
    • Ability to work in cold/hot environments and around wet processes.
    • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces or elevated areas.
  • Comfortable working in a food production environment with exposure to noise, moisture, and temperature variations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Hurlock, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
