Join our team as a Weld Machine Operator in a dynamic joist shop environment. You will be responsible for operating weld machines, monitoring machinery, and working collaboratively in an assembly line to produce joists. This role offers the opportunity to enhance your skills through hands-on machinery training and welding classes.
Responsibilities- Operate weld machines efficiently and ensure machinery functions correctly.
- Work collaboratively in an assembly line to produce joists.
- Read schematics to accurately assemble joists.
- Operate laser machines and other machinery as needed.
- Perform cleaning and sweeping tasks as necessary.
- Handle materials and perform touch-up painting.
- Experience with MIG, TIG, or Stick welding is advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics.
- General labor and assembly skills.
- Proficiency with hand tools.
- Experience in a trade or schooling in trades is beneficial.
- Ability to work in a heavy industrial atmosphere with loud noises and exposure to dirt and metal.
Enjoy a $2000 sign-on bonus and production bonuses. Receive $250 to $300 for tools and complimentary steel-toed boots. Employees are provided with prescription eye covers if needed. Accrue up to 2-3 weeks of paid time off within the first two years, along with 7 sick days and 7 holidays.
Work EnvironmentWork in a manufacturing plant dedicated to fabricating structural steel for bridge work. The environment is heavy industrial with exposure to hot conditions in the summer and cold conditions in the winter. This role requires comfort with a dirty atmosphere and loud noises.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Point of Rocks, MD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.17 - $24.17/hr.
