Job Title: Systems Engineer with Mechanical Focus


Job Description

We are seeking a Systems Engineer with a Mechanical Focus to support a weapon system program. This role involves working as part of the interface management team, where the candidate will demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and possess the ability to operate independently as well as collaboratively within a group. The position supports two key roles: the definition and allocation of weapon system interface requirements, which involves technical evaluation of requested interface changes and interaction with government activities and other prime contractors; and enhancing the thoroughness and accuracy of impact assessments and compatibility verifications of proposed interface requirements changes through the migration of existing artifacts into digital engineering tools to support model-based reviews. Limited travel to off-site locations may be required.


Responsibilities

  • Define and allocate weapon system interface requirements.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of requested interface changes.
  • Interact with government activities and other prime contractors.
  • Enhance the accuracy of impact assessments and compatibility verifications.
  • Migrate existing artifacts into digital engineering tools for model-based review.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 2-6 years of experience in relevant fields.
  • Understanding of basic engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of requirements, interface control, and design drawings.
  • Demonstrated self-starter capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with PC and office suite applications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with 3D design and parametric modeling.
  • Proficiency in Creo.
  • Experience in systems integration and analysis.
  • Understanding of engineering change orders and management.
  • Knowledge of interface management and mechanical experience.

Work Environment

The work environment involves utilizing digital engineering tools to support model-based reviews. The role may require limited travel to off-site locations. The position demands a high level of attention to detail and the ability to operate both independently and collaboratively within a team. The dress code is professional attire suitable for office settings.
