Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Structural Engineer with a degree and EIT or PE certification, who possesses 0-10 years of experience in vertical building design and construction. Internships or prior experience in Structural Engineering strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will be adept at preparing drawings, performing calculations, and estimating construction costs. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of materials including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood, collaborating closely with architects, clients, and other professionals. This role involves taking projects from proposal through to construction administration, including occasional site visits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, design analysis, and construction cost estimates.
• Perform construction-related services, including shop drawing reviews, responses to requests for information, periodic construction site observation, and specialized structural inspections.
• Collaborate with architects, designers, and building contractors on the design and construction of projects.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• 0-10 years of experience in structural engineering.
• EIT or PE license certification strongly preferred.
• Experience with vertical structural design using steel, concrete, and masonry; experience with wood is a plus.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with both vertical and horizontal structural backgrounds is considered.
• A degree in engineering is required.

Work Environment

This position requires working in the office five days a week, with flexible start or end times to accommodate family schedules. This is a Permanent position based out of Rockville, MD.

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/yr.

Individual contributions are not allowed. The contribution varies from year to year based on economic conditions.
