The primary goal of this position is to ensure a safe working environment, foster teamwork, enhance cleanliness, and boost employee morale to efficiently manage the shift in the supervisor's absence. The Assistant optimizes the cleaning and sanitation of all production lines and facility areas by managing personnel and materials, executing, and adjusting the cleaning and sanitation schedule as needed. The role involves monitoring the organization and cleanliness of the facility while managing all department personnel to achieve high levels of safety, organization, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Ensure a food-safe production and sanitation environment by following policies and procedures and enforcing them through auditing and training.
- Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) across all plant premises.
- Ensure sanitation quality and efficacy through process improvements and training.
- Communicate daily with employees about work assignments, goals, and plans.
- Examine sanitation reports for accuracy at the end of each shift.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the sanitation department through audits, inspections, and training competencies.
- Ensure proper concentrations are used during cleaning processes and only trained staff handle detergents and sanitizers.
- Responsible for closing the factory and ensuring the nightly closing checklist is completed.
- Be the last person out of the building, verifying and documenting weekly pest control activities.
- Oversee scheduled deep cleaning activities and ensure proper cleaning and sanitation after unscheduled repairs.
- Identify potential cleaning/sanitation issues following product development activities.
- Verify proper waste handling procedures and manage waste effectively.
- Experience in cleaning, janitorial, sanitizing, production, and general labor.
- Ability to oversee and execute nightly closing procedures.
- Competence in verifying and documenting pest control activities.
- Experience in managing deep cleaning and sanitation activities.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
