Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing steel frame adventure courses. This role involves creating detailed shop drawings, weldment prints, and 3D models. Additionally, the engineer will create analytical models, structural designs of adventure course structures, connection designs, foundation designs, and cable system designs.



Responsibilities
  • Design and engineer steel courses from concept to completion.
  • Create detailed shop drawings, including weldment prints and fabrication drawings.
  • Develop 3D models using Inventor.
  • Ensure designs adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
  • Collaborate with production teams to optimize manufacturability and assembly processes.
  • Conduct structural analysis and calculations to ensure the integrity of designs.
  • Assist in prototyping, testing, and validating new designs.
  • Maintain documentation and revision control for all drawings and models.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and installation teams as needed.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in structural engineering concepts.

Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2+ years' experience in engineering design.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Inventor.
  • Proficient in FEA and load calculations.
  • Knowledge in welding and fabrication processes, particularly steel fabrication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in steel fabrication.
  • Experience in adventure course design or a similar industry.

Work Environment

The position reports to the Engineering Manager and involves working within a team of 4 other Mechanical Engineers and 1 drafter. The company is a world leader in designing, engineering, manufacturing, and installing attractions such as climbing towers, adventure trails, individual entertainment hubs, and mazes for a variety of customers in the family entertainment industry. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Allegan, Michigan.
