Job Description
Join our team as a Lathe Machinist where you'll be responsible for machining details from plate or flat stock according to blueprints to precise dimensions. You'll operate in a dynamic environment, producing hot runners for the plastic injection industry using materials like steel, copper, and nickel.
Responsibilities
- Operate Haas 3 axis Lathe, including setup and tool changes.
- Edit G&M codes for feeds and speeds.
- Perform quality inspections of each part using micrometers and calipers.
- Program CNC from a print using templates, macros, and parametrics.
- Conduct set-ups for lot sizes typically under five.
- Interpret prints and read measuring tools.
- Replace tool inserts as required and measure parts for conformance.
- Perform routine machine maintenance.
- Run production on multiple machines and make alterations as needed.
- Strong understanding of G & M codes.
- 3 years of experience with CNC Lathe setup and operation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Proficiency with digital micrometers and calipers.
- Experience editing G&M codes on Haas or Fanuc controls.
- Programming experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and in a dynamic work environment.

Work Environment
Our facility offers a climate-controlled environment with new equipment in a clean shop built in 2019. Employees have access to multiple cafes and a workout room. Work hours for the 1st shift are 7am to 3:30pm, extending to 5:30pm when busy, with Saturdays from 7am to 1pm as needed. The 2nd shift operates from 7pm to 3:30am, extending to 5:30am when busy, with a 10% shift premium and Saturday hours from 2pm to 8pm as needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn Hills, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
