Job Description
The Accountant is responsible for preparing month-end financials, analyzing financial reports, assisting with inventory control, and processing accounts payable and receivable transactions. This role also supports budgeting, costing projects, and other accounting assignments.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile inventory and assist with job costing.
- Complete month-end close procedures.
- Prepare journal entries and accounting transactions.
- Assist with intercompany transactions.
- Reconcile accounts including payroll, accruals, fixed assets, and employee benefits.
- Support the budgeting process.
- Communicate effectively with management and other departments.
- Assist with auditor requests.
- Match purchase orders with stock receipts and process vendor payments.
- Coordinate customer invoicing and billing statements.
- Respond to inquiries from vendors, customers, and co-workers.
- Participate in special projects and compile reports.
- Proficiency in Accounting Software such as Sage or Microsoft Dynamics GP.
- Strong knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables, vlookup, and macros.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Solid understanding of general ledger, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
The role is based at the Byron Center location with potential monthly travel to Breckenridge location and yearly travel to corporate headquarters in Ohio. The position requires standard work hours from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Byron Center, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00/hr.
