Material Handler
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our team. The position involves working the 1st shift, from 5:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, in a 40-hour work week, with the possibility of up to 50 hours per week. This role mainly focuses on moving pallets on the floor and shuffling parts around the shop to their required destinations. You will also learn our computer system for scanning and stocking racks.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the department working space meets company presentation standards.
- Identify areas of concern and communicate suggestions for improvement with the leadership team.
- Monitor all items in the work area and maintain item quantity counts according to expectations.
- Operate HiLo/Fork Truck effectively.
- Lift items weighing up to 35 lbs as needed.
- Be flexible to work in other areas of the shop floor as required.
Essential Skills
- 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Strong computer skills, including ERP systems.
- Effective communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with inventory management, material handling, and RF scanner operation.
- Forklift operation skills.
- Ability to self-motivate.

This position operates in a fast-paced manufacturing setting that is hands-on and team-oriented. There is a strong focus on safety, quality, and reliability. The role involves working in a combination of office and manufacturing plant environments, with related noise and temperatures. You will work near equipment and machinery, requiring an ability to work safely near moving parts during audits, inspections, and training.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Byron Center, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
