Job Title: Program Manager


Job Description

As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for plastic injection molding and tooling projects. This role requires a strong understanding of injection mold design, manufacturing processes, materials, and production costs. You will work closely with engineering, sales, and production teams to ensure cost-effective, high-quality solutions that meet customer expectations. This position involves direct customer interaction.


Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed cost estimates for plastic injection molds, tooling, and production molding, including materials, labor, and cycle times.
  • Analyze RFQs, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and all internal departments to optimize manufacturing feasibility and efficiency.
  • Evaluate supplier costs, maintain pricing databases, and provide timely cost breakdowns for both prototype and production phases.

Essential Skills

  • 4+ years of experience in the plastic injection molding industry.
  • Experience in quoting and estimating.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Strong understanding of mold design, injection molding processes, and tooling materials.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T.
  • Experience in managing and executing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment specializes in molded plastic prototyping services, offering rapid prototyping, injection molding, aluminum tooling, CNC machining, 3D printing, design assistance, and finishing services. The company serves a variety of industries, including aerospace, automotive, defense, industrial, and medical sectors. The position operates on a 1st shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 6am to 4pm. Employees will receive 5 days of PTO and 6 standard holidays. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Centreville, Michigan.
