Role Overview
This individual will be responsible for creating detailed drawings of material handling equipment, work areas, and material handling components based on existing examples, as well as providing design support for future initiatives. Drawings will require a high level of detail in plan views and, when applicable, corresponding elevation views.
The ideal candidate is a self‑starter who can work with minimal direction and produce complete drawing sets that support the standardization of workspaces and designs across a large network of fulfillment operations.
This role will collaborate closely with the design team to translate concepts into accurate models.
MUST HAVES:
- 3–5 years of experience using CAD, including strong layer management skills
- Associate’s Degree in Drafting and Design
- At least 1 year of drafting experience in a warehouse or fulfillment center environment
- Basic knowledge of material handling and storage systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, BIM, or Navisworks
- Familiarity with Adobe software
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present information to diverse audiences
- Experience with document management
- Highly organized and detail‑oriented
NICE TO HAVES:
- Conveyor design and layout experience
- Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree
- Ability to lead small groups or project teams
This is a Contract position based out of Detroit, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
