Job Title: Chemistry Analyst
Job Description
We are seeking a mid-level Analytical Chemist to support laboratory testing and method development activities within a regulated lab environment. This role will focus on analytical testing, data interpretation, and hands-on method development using a variety of instrumental and wet chemistry techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong chemistry background and demonstrated experience developing and optimizing analytical methods.
Responsibilities
- Perform analytical testing using HPLC, UV/Vis spectrophotometry, and FTIR/NIR instrumentation.
- Conduct acid hydrolysis fat testing and Kjeldahl protein analysis in accordance with established procedures.
- Lead and support method development, optimization, and validation for new and existing analytical methods.
- Analyze, interpret, and document test results with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure reliable performance.
- Prepare technical documentation, including test reports, SOPs, and method validation summaries.
- Adhere to laboratory safety, quality, and documentation standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing analytical and process improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
- 2–4 years of hands-on laboratory experience in an analytical or chemistry-based role.
- Strong experience with HPLC, acid hydrolysis fat testing, Kjeldahl protein analysis, UV/Vis spectrophotometry, and FTIR/NIR analysis.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Method development is a must.
Work Environment
This is a laboratory-based role requiring hands-on analytical testing. The position requires compliance with safety protocols and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Farmington, CT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
