Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our team. This position involves working across six different shifts, with one opening available on each shift. The role requires a high level of attention to detail to ensure that every product meets our rigorous quality standards before it is shipped to our customers. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the quality assurance of plastic products and support our goal of winning new business.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of plastic bags, ensuring dimensions are accurate using a tape measure.
• Follow a detailed checklist to verify the tightness of the roll and integrity of the seals on bags.
• Identify visual defects such as streaks, spots, or color discrepancies in the plastic.
• Serve as the final quality check before products are shipped to the customer, ensuring high standards are met.

Essential Skills

• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Quality Technician.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints or work instructions.
• Strong understanding of how to read a tape measure.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with quality checks in the plastic packaging or medical industry is a plus.

Work Environment

The position involves working on various shifts, including 2nd shift (2p-10p), 3rd shift (10p-6a), and swing shifts (6a-6p, 6p-6a) on a 4-day on, 3-day off schedule. You will work in a facility focused on maintaining high standards of quality assurance, using tools such as tape measures and checklists to perform inspections. Shift premiums are offered for certain hours.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.50/hr.
