We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to provide advanced technical support for the installation, troubleshooting, and improvement of automated and electronic equipment under the direction of the Engineering Supervisor. The position requires working independently on complex projects involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, robotic, and PLC systems, and supporting continuous improvement and preventive maintenance efforts.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical, mechanical, and robotic systems.
- Modify and create PLC and HMI programs; adjust robot paths and vision systems.
- Support new equipment launches and retrofits.
- Perform and improve preventive maintenance using CMMS software.
- Respond quickly to production issues and minimize downtime.
- Proficiency in PLCs, HMI, and industrial robotics (ABB preferred).
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
- English required; Spanish bilingual preferred.
- Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience (e.g., journeyman card + 5 years).
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronics.
- Skill in preventive maintenance, schematic repair, and PLC troubleshooting.
- Interest in growing skills in PLC and Robotic troubleshooting.
The work environment is set in an automotive manufacturing setting, working 45-55 hours per week with some weekends as needed. The role is on the second shift (3 pm - 11 pm), with one position emphasizing controls at the North Plant and another emphasizing hydraulic/production support at the South Plant. The environment is fast-paced, offering the perfect opportunity for a maintenance technician to enhance their skills in automation and controls.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holland, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
