Job Title: CAD Designer
Job Description
The designer will be responsible for owning the design of a new seating program, applying Class A surface modeling techniques using Creo. The majority of the time will be spent working with CAD modeling and design, and the remaining time will involve collaboration with the Product Engineering team to ensure the proper creation and revision of engineering specifications.
Responsibilities
- Create engineering specification CAD models and drawings in accordance with industry standards.
- Utilize expert-level skills in Creo Parametric for CAD modeling and design.
- Apply advanced capabilities in Creo Parametric and Creo Direct Surfacing to support seating design, including the creation and modification of Class A surfaces.
- Apply knowledge of manufacturing, engineering, and industrial design principles in the creation and revision of engineering specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve CAD and engineering tool issues within a team environment.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Creo Design and Class A Surface Modeling with 10+ years of experience.
- Experience working with high-end, highly styled consumer goods products (furniture, interior trim, etc.).
- Plastic injection molding or die cast aluminum product design experience.
- Experience with Windchill.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in seating design.
- Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree in a related field.
Work Environment
The work environment includes standard working hours from 8 AM to 5 PM, and the position is on-site. Benefits include 2 weeks of paid time off and 6 paid holidays during the 12-month contract. This role provides the opportunity to be the primary CAD support on a new seating project within the organization.
