Job Overview

As a member of our Engineering Services Team, the CAD technician will help create drawing package for our utility customers.

A Day In The Life
  • Advanced knowledge of drafting within specified discipline (i.e. P&C and Station Eng)
  • Assist in the distribution and monitoring of internal CAD workload
  • Proficiency with customer drawing standards and processes
  • Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD &/or Microstation)
  • Train and mentor new CAD Techs and interns
  • Troubleshoot customer file management and database issues as they arise
  • Analyze and replicate CAD standards on new customer drawings
  • Plot and scan documents/drawings to support project team
What will help you thrive in this role?
  • 3 years related work experience in AutoCAD or Microstation
  • Familiarity of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Familiarity of station and structural layouts and plans
  • Advanced knowledge of customer programs
  • Advanced knowledge of drafting software
  • Advanced knowledge of drafting practices
  • Advanced knowledge of customer standards
  • Basic knowledge of electrical circuits
  • High attention to detail
  • Good communications skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS office suite
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
