Job Title: Transportation Engineer
Job DescriptionThe ideal candidate will play a key role in the design, review, and inspection of transportation infrastructure projects, ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards and alignment with project specifications. Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer and a strong working knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) project requirements and standards are essential.
Responsibilities
- Develop transportation engineering designs and plans for projects such as highways, roadways, tunnels, mass transit, and aviation.
- Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Perform site reviews and studies to ensure designs are aligned with project specifications.
- Update design requirements for new and existing projects.
- Inspect new construction and existing transportation structures.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer.
- Strong working knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) project requirements and standards.
- Experience in roadway design, civil engineering, and transportation engineering.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and stormwater management.
- 5+ years of experience in design and engineering for transportation projects.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or Structural Engineering.
- Experience with MDOT Standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) License.
Work Environment
Work is based in the Lansing office, with a requirement to work in the office a minimum of 2 days per week. The workweek averages 40 hours.
