Description
Client is seeking a lead Environmental Analyst/Inspector:
Will lead the Asbestos inspection team, while also performing this role.
Will also assist with building inspections, interpreting codes, and ensuring compliance.
Conduct thorough asbestos and/or hazardous materials inspections and prepare detailed reports.
Oversee and meticulously document asbestos and/or hazardous materials (HAZMAT) abatement operations.
Perform post-abatement verification inspections and generate accurate reports.
Manage environmental data, including compilation and insightful analysis.
Prepare samples for laboratory analysis, maintaining strict Chain of Custody.
Communicate effectively with construction site teams, including contractors and owner representatives.
Keep all stakeholders well-informed through clear and timely communication.
Maintain assigned vehicles and equipment to ensure operational readiness.
Adhere to all public health and safety regulations and follow established safety procedures diligently.
Take on other responsibilities as needed to support the team.
This will support a large multi-year project with the City of Detroit demolition Dept, and will mainly focus on residential home inspections that they will be demolishing.
If a work truck is available, they will be issued one, and can you throughout the week. If one is not available, one will be able to expense mileage.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
MUST HAVES:
5 plus years of Asbestos inspection experience
Clean Driving Record
Willingness to lead a team of 3-5 other inspectors
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Comfort and ability to use mobile devices for communication and record-keeping
Current State of Michigan Asbestos Abatement Supervisor License.
Solid understanding of EPA and EGLE standards, specifications, and guidelines.
BONUS:
Current state of MI building inspection license
Experience with air monitoring, lead assessment/risk analysis, and other industrial hygiene practices.
Experience with environmental phase I/II projects
Previous experience working on demolition projects.
The ability to occasionally lift to 50 pounds.
Willingness and ability to travel across Michigan, with potential travel throughout the tri-state area.
40-hour HAZWOPER certification (29 CFR 1910.120).
10-hour OSHA or MUST Safety certification.
30-hour OSHA certification.
NIOSH 582 certification.
Lead Professional Certification.
