Job Description
Join a dynamic team working alongside engineers in a state-of-the-art propulsion laboratory. You will be involved in engine development, calibration, and testing to achieve optimal performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers in the Pontiac Propulsion Labs.
- Conduct engine calibration development, mechanical experiments, and manual testing.
- Perform mechanical swapping of engine components to test different configurations.
- Utilize AVL/PUMA and emissions equipment in a laboratory setting.
- Tune and calibrate engines using software like HP Tuners or standalone systems.
- Operate manual testing on a dynamometer.
- Work with a Test Engineer to manipulate fuel tables, air intake, spark, and exhaust systems.
- Perform component-level work on items such as oil pumps, fuel injectors, and spark plugs.
- Assemble, modify, and fabricate engines for testing.
- Fabricate components on engine test stands and dynos.
- Perform instrumentation between the engine and the dyno.
- TIG weld parts and components.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with laboratory settings and emissions equipment.
- Mechanical with vehicle modification experience.
- Experience in engine calibration and tuning using standalone systems.
This is a Contract position based out of PONTIAC, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $35.00/hr.
