Job Title: Powder Coater I, Manufacturing - SkilledJob Description

In this role, you will be responsible for painting and using powder operations to properly prepare components, including sub-assemblies, contributing to the completion of a variety of products. You will adhere to quality and quantity standards and follow directions to meet part specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Paint and use powder operations to prepare components.
  • Ensure compliance with quality and quantity standards.
  • Read and understand procedures, safety sheets, instructions, and policies in English.
  • Communicate effectively and follow verbal instructions in English.
  • Adhere to safety-related practices including good housekeeping and ergonomics.
  • Participate in cross-training and teamwork.
  • Perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail.
  • Identify and report any issues that may arise.
  • Learn new processes, systems, and equipment.
  • Document work processes and maintain basic preventative maintenance.
  • Collaborate effectively within a diverse team.
  • Show motivation to grow and progress in skills.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in painting and powder coating operations.
  • Ability to carry out verbal instructions and communicate in English.
  • Adherence to safety practices.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Capability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Physical ability to lift/carry 10-50 lbs. frequently and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
  • Stamina for prolonged stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, sitting, standing, and crawling.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience as a powder coat loader and unloader.
  • Ability to operate machinery and use safety equipment such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protection, and respirators.

Work Environment

The work environment may expose you to loud noises and requires the operation of machinery. You will use safety equipment such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and hearing protection in designated areas. Proper respirators and other equipment are necessary in the paint booth area.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portage, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.50/hr.
