General Production Worker

Join our dynamic team as a General Production Worker where you will play an integral role in daily production operations. You will work with a dedicated team to help transform rocks into materials used for various industries such as sandblasting, garage floors, and sandpaper. Our facility is monitored to ensure safety, and we are committed to expanding our operations as we grow.

• Assist with daily production line operations, including monitoring containers filling up with material.
• Swap full containers with empty ones and record finished good weights in both computer databases and on paper.
• Label finished products and transfer materials to the warehouse using a forklift, which constitutes about 10% of the job.
• Perform general work like shoveling, sweeping, cleaning material on the floor, organizing production areas, and stocking empty containers.
• Engage in physical labor that requires lifting up to 50 lbs consistently and climbing stairs throughout the shift.
• Prepare packaged materials for orders, including shrink wrapping packages, banding drums, and filling 50lb pails.
• Perform some outdoor tasks such as filling garbage and scrap metal containers.

• Ability to lift 50 pounds consistently.
• Experience climbing up and down stairs throughout the shift.
• Forklift experience, specifically sit-down propane forklifts, with a minimum of 3 months experience.
• Experience working in rougher environments, such as steel or construction settings.
• Tolerance of a dusty workplace, with respirators available for use.
• Steel-toed boots are required.

• Production/Manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Recent experience in a production environment is advantageous.
• Hardworking nature and good attendance are highly valued.
• Punctuality and daily attendance are essential.

Our facility specializes in breaking down rocks into small particles for various uses. The environment is very dusty, with options to wear a respirator if desired. The workplace can be hot in the summers and cold in the winters, with a darker setting due to the building's age. The dress code includes jeans, a shirt with sleeves, and steel-toed boots. We provide a uniform to ensure comfort and safety.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Romulus, MI.

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
