Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to lead the implementation of BQE Core, our new cloud-based ERP/accounting system, while supporting daily accounting operations. This long-term role is crucial for modernizing our accounting processes and offers hands-on systems exposure, ownership of a major ERP rollout, and growth potential within the accounting organization.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary internal resource for the implementation of BQE.
- Support data migration efforts, including CSV imports, historical data validation, and reconciliations.
- Participate in implementation kickoff and ongoing project meetings.
- Coordinate with BQE's internal implementation team and/or external consultants.
- Evaluate current accounting and billing processes to ensure proper system configuration.
- Provide ongoing system support, optimization, and ownership following go-live.
- Perform core staff accountant responsibilities alongside system implementation work.
- Support project/cost accounting, revenue recognition, billing, and general ledger activities.
- Partner closely with the Accounting Manager and billing team.
- Gradually assume additional traditional accounting responsibilities as the system stabilizes.
Essential Skills
- 2–5 years of accounting experience.
- Experience in project-based or cost accounting environments (Engineering, Construction, Architecture).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Exposure to ERP systems such as BQE Core, Deltek, Vantage, or similar.
- Strong Excel skills, including data handling and lookups.
- Comfortable working with cloud-based systems and new technology.
- Willingness to be hands-on during a multi-month ERP implementation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience with BQE (preferred but not required).
- Experience in A&E, engineering, or professional services environments.
This is a Permanent position based out of Troy, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
