The Program Manager is responsible for providing engineering expertise for manufacturing to ensure the capability of producing a quality product. This position manages and coordinates new technology and customer programs for the launch of new products into production. The role involves handling multiple projects simultaneously, specifically focusing on injection molded products, and requires involvement from the early stages to offer technical perspectives and assist with negotiating cost and timelines with customers.
Responsibilities- Manage customer communications for new product launches, including detailed technical information related to tooling or injection molding processes.
- Oversee supply chain management during the pre-production launch.
- Collaborate with the materials department to obtain required components for each project.
- Work with internal and external suppliers to acquire necessary assets according to customer expectations.
- Organize job start and tooling design review meetings to ensure tooling and part designs are optimized for manufacturing process compatibility.
- Collaborate with Metrology and Quality departments to provide required inspection data to customers.
- Travel to various customer, plant, and vendor locations as required, which may include international travel (0-5%).
- Comply with all safety requirements and quality procedures.
- Manage project timelines and open issues meetings to ensure timely execution of key project tasks.
- Attend tool sample events and process qualification activities to ensure project expectations are met.
- Manage new tooling and engineering changes.
- 3+ years of experience working as an engineer within plastic injection molding (including tooling, manufacturing, or process).
- Experience with tooling, including involvement with mold trials, mold validation, and mold start-up.
- Knowledge and understanding of Quality Systems, including metrology, blueprint reading, PPAPs, APQPs, PFEMAs, Control Plans, and Corrective Actions.
- Experience with Minitab.
- Experience in Program/Project Management (managing projects from start to finish).
- An engineering degree is preferred.
The Program Manager will split their time between both plants in Vicksburg, working on medical product lines such as plastic parts for hospital beds, wheel casters, and ambulance beds, as well as automotive projects and consumer products. The role provides exposure to the full lifecycle of program management across automotive, medical device, and consumer industrial industries. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of VICKSBURG, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.86 - $57.70/hr.
