Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description

As a Controls Engineer, you will join our dynamic services team, contributing to the development of industrial automation machinery for prominent automotive programs. You will be involved in the controls and automation work within various plants, primarily working with new equipment using Siemens TIA Portal PLC code. This role requires flexibility for travel, as you may be assigned to on-site projects with customers to handle programming and automation controls services.



Responsibilities

  • Receive specifications for automated equipment from specific customers and write or modify PLC code accordingly.
  • Collaborate on the shop floor, both on-site at customer locations and in-house, to perform machine start-ups, debugging, and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in the installation of machines at customer sites, ensuring successful start-ups and resolving any issues before proceeding to new projects.


Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of experience with Siemens TIA Portal, including writing code from scratch.
  • Experience with automation equipment, preferably having worked with an integrator.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% to locations such as Michigan, New York, Canada, and Ohio.
