Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Product Engineer who will split their time between design engineering and product engineering tasks. This position requires proficiency in SolidWorks for design updates and data work, as well as the ability to manage projects involving testing, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting with the manufacturing team.

Responsibilities

• Act as Design Engineer using SolidWorks for drawing updates and light data work.
• Focus on product engineering tasks, including testing, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to address product-related issues.
• Engage in cost-saving initiatives by substituting alternative materials such as plastics or metals.
• Analyze alternative designs based on potential automation solutions.
• Conduct complete product line reviews, including competitor analysis.
• Perform research and reverse engineering on product designs.
• Write test plans and support test preparation, analyzing results to inform decisions.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks and DFMEA for root cause analysis.
• Experience with Six Sigma or similar problem-solving methodologies such as 8D.
• 3-5 years of experience in a related field.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in cost-saving strategies and material substitution.
• Ability to conduct thorough product line reviews and competitor analysis.
• Strong research and reverse engineering skills.

Work Environment

The position operates within typical office hours, from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM or from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role offers a balance between design and product engineering responsibilities with a generous 3 weeks of paid time off.

This is a Contract position based out of Zeeland, MI.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Zeeland,MI.
