Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description
We are seeking a Material Handler who will primarily operate a stand-up forklift, preferably Crown brand, to manage products weighing up to 2000 lbs. This role requires the preparation of orders for shipment using computer-generated work orders, checking and loading products into semi-trailers, and ensuring compliance with quality specifications. The position involves frequent transitions between operating the forklift and manually handling products.
Responsibilities
- Operate a stand-up forklift for 75% or more of the workday.
- Prepare orders for shipment using computer-generated work orders.
- Check products and load them into semi-trailers for shipment.
- Ensure products and shipments meet quality specifications.
- Perform safety checks on warehouse equipment including stand-up forklifts, man-up, and order pickers.
- Engage in manual handling activities such as pushing and pulling pallets while bending.
Essential Skills
- 6+ months of recent experience operating a stand-up forklift.
- Proficiency in reading and writing work reports to facilitate order picking and pulling.
- Comfortable using computers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Capability to stand all day in steel-toed shoes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with pallet jacks and warehouse operations.
- Willingness to submit to a background check.

Work Environment
Work in a newly opened, clean, and expansive 248,489 square feet distribution center separate from the manufacturing building. Utilize newer forklifts as older models are gradually replaced. The position offers two shifts: the first from 5:30am to 2:00pm, and the second from 1:30pm to 10:00pm, both with mandatory overtime. Expect to work one Saturday a month, with advance notice provided.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anoka, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.25/hr.
