We are seeking a skilled Mig/Pulse Welder to join our team in a dynamic steel fabrication shop. This role involves working with various materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, primarily on structural parts. The position requires a hands-on approach with a variety of welding techniques and some fabrication tasks, ensuring that each project meets high-quality standards.
Responsibilities- Perform pulse welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum for structural parts.
- Handle parts weighing over 50-100 pounds, primarily focusing on one-offs rather than mass production.
- Execute multiple passes as necessary and adapt to various welding positions such as vertical, horizontal, and angle welding.
- Operate without jigs or fixtures for most parts and utilize overhead cranes to avoid laying on the back.
- Engage in some pipe/tube welding as needed.
- Use Miller and Lincoln welders for tasks.
- Conduct grinding and fabrication work, including operating a shear.
- Adapt to daily needs, wearing multiple hats as required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Mig/Pulse welding on carbon steel for medium to large weldments.
- Proficiency in working from specifications, blueprints, and interpreting weld symbols.
- Ability to set up and operate fabrication machines such as brakes and shears.
- Experience in MIG, structural steel, fabrication, and blueprint reading.
- Knowledge of welding techniques such as flux core, TIG, and grinding.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a well-established steel fabrication shop consisting of three buildings in the area. The work environment is typical for a blue-collar shop, slightly dirty, and without air conditioning. The shop is equipped with overhead cranes for convenience.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of BECKER, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
