Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
The Electro-Mechanical Assembler performs essential tasks involving the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of medical devices, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards. This role requires both independent and collaborative work, contributing to the efficient functioning of the production process.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, wire, program, test, and package electromechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies with minimal supervision.
- Conduct functional testing of various systems, subassemblies, and components, ensuring adherence to quality assurance standards.
- Assist in troubleshooting and making adjustments as required, contributing to the resolution of technical issues with minimal supervision.
- Analyze test results on defective units to identify root causes of failure and perform necessary repairs with minimal support.
- Record discrepancies and quality defect reports in production documentation, maintaining accurate records.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, technicians, and relevant personnel to address production issues.
- Participate in cross-training initiatives and aim to become a subject matter expert in multiple areas of production.
- Perform soldering of wires and terminals, including some through-hole components and minimal surface mount tasks.
- Additional duties, as assigned by supervisor.
Essential Skills
- Soldering skills and proficiency in SMT, electro-mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics.
- Ability to read blueprints or schematics.
- Experience in preventive maintenance and as a maintenance technician.
- Proficiency in wiring, machine building, assembly, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic assemblies.
- At least three years of related assembly and/or electromechanical technician experience preferred.
- Proficiency in using electronics testing equipment and various fasteners, lubricants, adhesives, and tools.
- Ability to interpret complex technical documentation, including schematic drawings, assembly diagrams, and bills of materials.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive movements of both hands six to eight hours daily, and lift up to 50-70 lbs. occasionally.
- Computer literacy, including MS Office experience and basic PC skills.
- Certification to IPC / J-STD is a plus.
- Proficient in wiring electrical control and power systems on mechanical and hydraulic assemblies.

Work Environment
The work environment is a very nice, large, open space with temperature-controlled warehouse and assembly areas. The open production area flows into the warehouse, featuring high ceilings and bright workstations. The culture fosters independent work while encouraging teamwork within a small crew of approximately 20 employees in the production area.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Chanhassen, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
