Job Title: Welder
Job Description

As a Welder, you will be responsible for welding customized conveyor and material handling equipment based on blueprint drawings. You will be pulling your own parts to build products according to specifications. The role involves working with a variety of conveyor systems, all of which require customization, so proficiency in reading blueprints is essential. MIG welding will be the primary technique used, with occasional TIG welding. You will work primarily with mild steel, stainless steel, and some aluminum. It is preferred that you have your own basic set of tools, although it is not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Weld customized conveyor and material handling equipment using blueprint drawings.
  • Pull and assemble parts to build products according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and job packets.
  • Complete necessary documentation after each job.
  • Utilize MIG and occasional TIG welding techniques.
  • Work with materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
Essential Skills
  • 6 months of experience in customized welding based on blueprints/drawings.
  • Ability to read basic blueprints and use a tape measure.
  • Proficiency in MIG welding, with some experience in TIG welding.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Possession of steel-toed boots.
  • Preferred possession of basic hand and power tools.

Work Environment

This position is located in a fabrication and assembly shop where you will be on your feet throughout the day. You may need to bend and climb onto and around equipment as necessary. The shop conducts welding, assembly, and painting in-house, so expect occasional flashes and a faint paint smell. Working hours are from 6 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, and 6 AM to 12 PM on Fridays, with potential overtime.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit Lakes, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
