Job Title: Electrical Engineer


Job Description

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the electrical design and support of new products, ensuring they meet customer, project, quality, testing, and manufacturability requirements. This role includes supporting existing and derivative products, investigating and implementing fixes and improvements, and supporting proprietary manufacturing test equipment by implementing and supporting firmware and software. The position offers opportunities for growth into management or leadership for the right individual.


Responsibilities

  • Design and troubleshoot circuits and develop schematics.
  • Select electronic components and design and layout printed circuit boards.
  • Develop, review, and edit product documentation and specifications.
  • Develop and maintain factory test equipment and programmers for hardware, firmware, and software.
  • Manage new product development and sustaining engineering projects.
  • Travel to the manufacturing facility whenever necessary or requested.

Essential Skills

  • 4-year degree in Electrical, Software, or Computer Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in hardware, software, or firmware development.
  • Strong understanding of digital and analog circuit design principles.
  • Ability to create schematics and perform PCB design.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio development environment.
  • Proficiency in C/C++, Visual Basic .NET, and C#.
  • Experience with Microsoft Access, Oracle, and SQL.
  • Comfortable leading technical discussions with customers and prospects.
  • Familiarity with FCC, IC testing and requirements, and project management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in embedded systems and driver development and signing (Linux).
  • Knowledge of USB design.
  • Experience with Microchip CryptoAuthentication products.
  • Ability to author white papers.
  • Engineering leadership and cross-functional project management experience.

Work Environment

You will be working within a high-technology small company setting, collaborating closely with various departments to deliver industry-leading products. Occasional travel to the Brainerd manufacturing facility may be required.
