Job Title: Design Engineering Manager

Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to oversee a team of designers within a growing engineering organization. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings a strong leadership presence, and has a solid foundation in mechanical design and engineering principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight for a team of 5–6 direct reports and approximately 20 indirect contributors.
• Drive change management initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Lead performance management efforts, including goal setting, coaching, and development planning.
• Collaborate with leadership to define team vision, scope, and long-term objectives.
• Manage staffing forecasts and resource planning to align with project and business needs.
• Support and oversee process improvement initiatives across the design function.
• Serve as a key liaison between design and other engineering or operational teams.
• Ensure alignment of design output with technical standards and organizational goals.
• Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization to ensure clarity, alignment, and accountability.

Qualifications:

• Proven leadership experience managing technical teams, ideally within a design or engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design and engineering fundamentals.
• Demonstrated success in leading through change and driving team performance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on team support.
