Job Title: MIG Welder

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled MIG Welder to set up, operate, and tend welding equipment used in the fabrication of heavy‑gauge components. This role involves MIG welding on stainless steel and mild steel, performing multi‑pass welds up to one inch thick. You will support the production of core product lines including compactors, pavement maintenance equipment, and paving machinery. The ideal candidate will be able to safely lay out, fit up, and weld components according to blueprints while managing workload to meet production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate welding, soldering, and brazing equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform MIG welding on heavy-gauge stainless steel and mild steel.
  • Execute multi‑pass welds (including 3‑pass welds) on material up to 1" thick.
  • Fabricate and weld components used in compactors, pavement maintenance, and paving equipment.
  • Read, interpret, and work from blueprints to lay out and assemble welded structures.
  • Organize and manage daily workload to support production goals.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years of MIG welding experience on heavy‑gauge steel.
  • Ability to weld accurately from blueprints and fabrication drawings.
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Students currently enrolled in a two‑year welding program will be considered.

Why Work Here?

This is a hands-on fabrication shop where welders see projects from start to finish—not an assembly-line environment. We prioritize employee development, teamwork, and continuous feedback. We celebrate all major holidays with events or gifts, and outstanding performance may lead to transitioning from contractor to full-time employment.

Work Environment

  • Shop-floor/fabrication environment with noise levels occasionally reaching 80+ dB.
  • Limited exposure to UV radiation from welding arcs and plasma torches.
  • All welding tools and PPE provided, except steel‑toed boots (required).
  • Welders may bring their own helmet if preferred.
  • Shift options:
    • 2nd shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Mon–Fri)
    • 3rd shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM (Mon–Fri)
