Job Title: T2 Production Operations Reagents Technician – Purifications Team
Job Description
This role supports the purifications team within reagent operations, focusing on the setup, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of analytical instrumentation used in a regulated manufacturing environment. You will work hands-on in the lab performing pipetting, pH titrations, and a variety of analytical tests using tools such as HPLC, titrations, pH meters, conductivity meters, densitometers, and particle analyzers. The work directly contributes to the production of critical healthcare products that support real-time clinical decision-making around the world.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and complex laboratory testing to support reagent purification operations, including extensive pipetting and analytical measurements.
- Set up, calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot analytical instruments such as HPLC systems, titration equipment, pH meters, conductivity meters, densitometers, and particle analyzers.
- Conduct pH titrations accurately and consistently in accordance with established test methods and procedures.
- Follow clearly defined standard operating procedures (SOPs), scientific methods, and quality guidelines in all laboratory activities.
- Apply basic analytical skills, scientific methods, and operational processes to execute straightforward and moderately complex laboratory tasks.
- Perform moderate to complex test methods by following written procedures and protocols with high attention to detail.
- Document all test results with strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) requirements.
- Maintain and organize instrument calibration and maintenance logbooks to ensure accurate and complete records.
- Use basic computer skills and laboratory software for data entry, data management, and daily operational tasks.
- Perform daily cleaning and housekeeping of the in-process laboratory at the end of each business day to maintain a safe and organized work area.
- Support purification activities related to a technology transfer project from another site, ensuring processes are executed according to defined methods.
- Participate in a monthly process that includes a 15-hour build in support of the purification and tech transfer project.
- Proactively identify and pursue solutions to issues in the lab, seeking out answers and improvements rather than waiting for direction.
- Adhere to GLP and GMP standards, as well as chromatography and biochemistry best practices, in all reagent preparation and formulation activities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field is preferred; an associate degree in a relevant discipline is also considered.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing laboratory role is highly desirable.
- Prior hands-on experience with HPLC is a strong plus.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively find solutions and seek out information rather than waiting for instructions.
- Experience working under GMP or GLP conditions with strong documentation habits.
- Experienced in or coursework in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, or related scientific fields.
Work Environment
This position operates in a regulated manufacturing laboratory environment on a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, typically from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
