We are seeking applicants for a Mechanical Reliability Engineer in our International Falls, MN Paper Mill.
The International Falls facility is a White Paper Mill owned by Packaging Corporation of America.

Principle Accountabilities:
  • Provide direction and leadership to ensure the maintenance, repair, and installation of plant mechanical and electrical equipment and facilities meet department and mill objectives.
  • Provide direct supervision and planning for hourly Reliability Crews.
  • Develop preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, and lubrication procedures as directed.
  • Lead and maintain RCM activities in the Maintenance Department.
  • Conduct failure analysis and maintain FA database.
  • Provide mechanical technical support to Maintenance and Operations.
  • Provide practical solutions to repetitive maintenance problems.
  • Develop scopes, plans, project justifications, cost estimates, engineering design, equipment, and material specifications; manage project costs, schedules, consultants, contractors, and construction along with start-up.
  • Responsible for safety plans, on-time, on-budget, trouble free projects.
  • Report for weekend duty according to a periodic on-call schedule.
  • Work as part of the management team focusing on optimizing the asset management strategies through incorporating reliability engineering best practices and improving predictive and preventative maintenance practices and procedures to improve overall machinery performance.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Minimal travel, as necessary
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years' experience in reliability/maintenance engineering.
  • Predictive maintenance technologies including vibration analysis and lubrication or equivalent experience.
  • Vibration analysis certification to Level III.
  • Knowledge in setting alarm bands and using statistical analysis for rotating machinery and knowledge of vibration analysis software, preferably SKF.

  • Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • An ambition to learn and succeed in an innovative paper product industry.
  • Must have initiative, be a self-starter, and have the ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Must have knowledge and skills in use of computer systems with specific experience in MS-Outlook, MS-Excel, MS-Project, and MS-Word programs required.
  • Must be a good decision maker and results oriented.
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to positively implement change are required.
