Mill Operator

We are seeking a dedicated Mill Operator who projects a positive attitude towards customers and colleagues at all times. The successful candidate will be responsible for packaging products according to production schedules, disposing of materials as per guidelines, and ensuring equipment is inspected prior to loading. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to follow biosecurity and BSE rules.

Responsibilities

• Package products according to production schedule requirements and production sequencing requirements.
• Dispose of spill, partial bag, and flush material in accordance with rework and flushing guidelines.
• Weigh, load, and unload trucks and customer vehicles.
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed, including tasks that may require going to the top of the mill.
• Follow directions from the supervisor and management.
• Notify the supervisor of any manufacturing problems.
• Inspect equipment before loading.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
• Adhere to biosecurity rules and BSE rules.

• Attention to detail.
• Proficiency in basic math and writing skills for milling tasks.
• 6 months of manufacturing or farming experience.

• Previous warehouse experience is advantageous but not required.
• Previous forklift experience is preferred.
• Experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and production processes.
• Familiarity with CDL, farming, feed mill operations, product knowledge, and mixing.

Work Environment

The work environment is an open warehouse setting, which includes exposure to the smell of animal feed. It can be colder in the winter and warmer in the summer in certain areas due to shipping bay doors. Candidates must be comfortable working in confined spaces and be okay with heights.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jackson, MN.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Jackson,MN.
