Job Description
The Senior Accountant will support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of general ledger accounts and preparing financial reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, AR aging reports, and cash flow statements. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will assist in sales and use tax reporting, maintain and file business licenses, and prepare sales commission reports to ensure timely processing and payment. The position involves driving process and system enhancements to improve efficiency and optimize performance.
Responsibilities
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Ensure accuracy of general ledger accounts through reconciliations and journal entries.
- Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, AR aging reports, and cash flow statements.
- Reconcile A/P accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in sales and use tax reporting, ensuring compliance with state and local tax regulations.
- Maintain and file business licenses and permits.
- Prepare and review sales commission reports, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Drive process and system enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- 3+ years of operational accounting experience with GL functions.
- 3+ years of advanced Excel experience.
- Revenue recognition expertise.
- General ledger knowledge.
- Bank reconciliations proficiency.
- Journal entries experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 1+ year of Netsuite experience.
- 1+ year of Sales Commission accounting.
- 1+ year of revenue recognition accounting.

The candidate will work in a very nice office environment, sitting in the office five days a week with flexibility as needed. This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $48.00/hr.
