Plant Trait Development Technician

Description

This role supports the development of new gene edited plants through tissue culture, growth chambers and greenhouses.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing growth chamber and greenhouse plant duties

• Perform tissue culture

• Conduct plant crossing protocols and support breeding development activities

• Data collection/data entry for regulatory purposes

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in science (plant breeding, botany, plant sciences is ideal but not required)

• Strong attention to detail (confirmed by references)

• Passion for the industry (confirmed in a personal statement/bullet point)

• Strong knowledge of SOPs

• References speaking to being "honest, creative and hardworking"

Nice to have qualifications:

• Previous experience developing or troubleshooting SOPs

• Experience with plant breeding
