Apprentice CNC Operator – 1st & 2nd Shift

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Overview

A growing, employee‑owned manufacturing company is seeking Apprentice CNC Operators to join their team on 1st and 2nd shift. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with machining trade school training or 1–3 years of CNC experience who want to advance their skills in a clean, climate‑controlled shop using modern equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC mills and lathes with support from experienced machinists
  • Learn to make basic G/M‑code edits and complete tool changes
  • Perform in‑process inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and CMMs
  • Work with blueprints, setup sheets, and technical documentation
  • Maintain tight tolerances on precision metal components
  • Develop machining, troubleshooting, and setup fundamentals over time

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of CNC machining experience or machining trade school education
  • Familiarity with CNC mills or lathes (production machining a plus)
  • Ability to read blueprints and perform basic inspections
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and desire to grow in the trade
  • Basic understanding of GD&T and G/M‑codes (training provided)

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of MINNEAPOLIS, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
