Job Description

We are seeking an experienced 2nd shift diesel mechanic to join our team for a long-term position. The ideal candidate will have the ability to repair and fix large and heavy-duty diesel trucks. This position offers the opportunity to learn a variety of skills on diesel trucks in an independent retail shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain large and heavy-duty diesel trucks.
• Utilize mechanical aptitude to diagnose and fix issues.
• Work with various diesel engine brands.
• Collaborate with a team of experienced mechanics.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience as a mechanic (auto or diesel).
• 1+ year of experience with brands such as Detroit, CAT, or Mercedes.
• Possession of a set of hand and air tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Diesel or auto mechanic certifications preferred.
• Tech school degree is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment is a small semi-truck diesel repair shop that is family-owned and operated. The facility is an authorized OEM dealer for parts and repairs for Caterpillar, Detroit engines, and others. With a team of 10-12 mechanics, the shop offers a collaborative and learning-friendly atmosphere where you can hone your skills on a variety of engine work.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
