Job Description

As a Lab Technician, you will perform laboratory tests and other related work using both conventional and computerized machines and work aids. Your role will involve determining the chemical and physical characteristics or composition by setting up, readjusting, and operating laboratory equipment and instruments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory work and tests according to prescribed standards.
• Determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition.
• Set up, readjust, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Enter data to maintain records, update information, and track results.
• Respond to basic customer questions regarding formulas and the mixture process.
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate standard equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in laboratory work, chemistry, and chemical formulation.
• Experience in color matching, R&D, and powder coating.
• Experience in mixing, measuring, resin handling, experimentation, research, synthesis, and quality control.
• Ability to manage batches and work with liquids, coatings, and paint.
• 1 year of chemical lab experience preferred.
• Basic math skills required.
• Experience in color differentiation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associates/Bachelors degree preferred.
• Proven good organizational and documentation skills.
• Proven ability to take direction.

Work Environment

This role is based in an industrial laboratory, not a clean room or biological lab environment. The position offers flexible first-shift hours from Monday to Friday, typically working an 8-hour shift starting between 7 AM and 8 AM, with core hours from 8 AM to 4 PM. The dress code is business casual, and a lab coat is required. There is potential for career advancement, although candidates should be prepared to remain in this role for at least 9 months.
