Job Title: Installation Lead – Office Furniture
Job Description
The Installation Lead – Office Furniture oversees the installation and assembly of office furniture systems across the Minneapolis–St. Paul metro area and surrounding regions. This role leads a crew in delivering high-quality, safe, and efficient installations in corporate workspaces while ensuring excellent service and adherence to project timelines. The position begins as a 4‑month contract-to-hire opportunity on a first-shift schedule with regular overtime availability.
Responsibilities
- Lead a crew of 5–10 team members in the installation and assembly of office furniture in corporate workspaces.
- Coordinate daily tasks and workflows with the trainer and lead team members to ensure efficient project completion.
- Assemble, install, and adjust office furniture systems using hand tools and power tools according to specifications and layout plans.
- Ensure all installations meet quality standards, safety requirements, and client expectations.
- Read and interpret instructions, diagrams, and layout plans to complete mechanical and construction-related installation tasks.
- Perform general labor duties related to construction and installation, including lifting, positioning, and securing furniture components.
- Inspect completed work for accuracy, stability, and overall quality, making adjustments as needed.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to report progress, issues, and any on-site challenges.
- Support a positive team environment by collaborating with others and assisting less experienced crew members as needed.
Essential Skills
- Experience with installation, construction, or carpentry work, particularly involving office furniture or similar assemblies.
- Proficiency using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to assemble and install furniture components accurately.
- Ability to perform general labor tasks, including lifting, carrying, and positioning materials and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality, precise installations.
- Capability to work effectively as part of a team and follow direction from trainers and leads.
- Reliability in adhering to a first-shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, physically active environment in various corporate settings.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience as a lead installer, crew lead, or similar leadership role in installation, construction, or carpentry environments.
- Experience in office furniture installation or related mechanical assembly work.
- Familiarity with corporate workspace layouts and commercial construction or fit-out projects.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and on-site contacts.

Work Environment

Work is performed in teams, typically with a trainer and a lead, in crews of 5–10 people. The schedule follows a first shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with overtime available as needed. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
