Job Description
This role is responsible for accurately receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise, and tools within a stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard environment. The position supports production by maintaining precise inventory records, performing material transactions in the system, and safely operating material handling equipment to move and organize products throughout the facility.
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise, and tools, and verify shipments against requisitions or invoices by counting, sorting, or weighing items.
- Store materials in designated locations within the stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard in an organized and easily accessible manner.
- Issue materials and supplies to production and other workers as needed, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Compile and maintain accurate stock records, including quantities, locations, and movement of inventory.
- Mark or label articles with identifying codes, figures, or letters to ensure proper identification and traceability.
- Operate gas or electric powered forklift trucks safely to move, stack, tier, load, and unload materials in and around the plant, warehouse, or stockyard.
- Properly load and operate the stress relieving oven according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Perform daily and weekly Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks on assigned equipment with accuracy and consistency.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile physical stock with system records to maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Perform MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system transactions, including issues and receipts, to keep inventory records current and accurate.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area in compliance with facility standards.
- Collaborate with production and other departments to ensure materials are available when needed to support ongoing operations.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating equipment and handling materials.
- At least 1 year of prior material handling and inventory experience.
- Experience with inventory control processes such as receiving, storing, issuing, and counting materials.
- Ability to safely operate gas or electric powered forklift trucks for loading, unloading, and moving materials.
- Basic knowledge of MRP transaction performance, including processing issues and receipts in an inventory system.
- Ability to accurately count, sort, or weigh incoming articles and verify them against requisitions or invoices.
- Capability to perform daily and weekly TPM tasks with consistency and attention to detail.
- A vocational or high school education or equivalent.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to established procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all inventory and documentation activities.
- On-the-job training is provided to learn specific trade techniques and procedures used at the facility.
- Experience working in a warehouse, stockroom, or production environment.
- Comfort with marking and labeling materials using identifying codes, figures, or letters.
- Ability to work effectively on projects that support specialized industries, including military-related work.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly storage areas and accurate records.
- Willingness to learn and follow safety and operational standards for equipment such as forklifts and stress relieving ovens.

The role is based on an open production floor with great lighting, creating a bright and comfortable work area. The facility is very clean and quiet, supporting focus and attention to detail. Work takes place in a warehouse and stockroom setting with access to a production floor, where gas or electric powered forklifts and a stress relieving oven are used as part of daily operations. The environment emphasizes organization, safety, and cleanliness, with clearly defined storage areas and well-maintained equipment.

This is a Permanent position based out of North Mankato, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $51125.00 - $54080.00/yr.
