MIG Welder

Job Description

As a Welder, you will perform welding tasks according to blueprint specifications, determining proper welds, callouts, and positions to complete projects efficiently. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include MIG welding on mild steel and stainless steel, ranging from 7 gauge to 1/4 inches. In addition to welding, you will assist with cutting, organizing, and staging materials, as well as fabricating parts, operating machines, grinding, cutting insulation, and finishing parts.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on mild steel and stainless steel as per blueprint specifications.
• Read and interpret detailed welding blueprints to complete tasks promptly.
• Determine proper welds, callouts, and positions for each job.
• Assist with cutting, organizing, and staging materials for other employees.
• Fabricate parts by operating machines, grinding, cutting insulation, and finishing components.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in MIG welding and blueprint reading.
• Strong shop math skills.
• Ability to fabricate as needed, including TIG and flux core welding.
• Experience with tape measures and sheet metal work.
• Knowledge of welding symbols and techniques.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Welding experience or a relevant degree is required.
• Preferred experience with blueprint and welding symbols.
• A stable work history without frequent job changes.

Work Environment

Work in a smaller shop that is experiencing significant growth, with a focus on long-term employment. The company is expanding to a brand new facility in Apple Valley, set to open in early 2026, providing modern amenities and a fresh workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rosemount, MN.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $32.00/hr.
