Job Title: Overhead Crane Operator
Shift Options: 4x10 Hours
- 2nd Shift: 2:20 PM – 11:50 PM (2 openings on 2nd shift)
Job Summary
The Overhead Crane Operator is responsible for unloading semi-trailers, staging materials, and handling products after they are cut to length. As skills develop, the operator will be trained in plasma cutting and operating cut‑to‑length machinery. This role supports production operators through material handling tasks and contributes to processing customer orders using various equipment. This role will be a Union based opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Unload semi-trailers and stage incoming materials.
- Handle and organize products after they are cut to length.
- Assist machine operators with material handling.
- Learn and operate cut‑to‑length machines and plasma cutters.
- Support the processing and completion of customer orders.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 1 year of overhead crane operation experience.
- Prior experience with sheet metal and operating a shear machine skill set
- Strong willingness to learn new equipment and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Material handling and inventory experience.
- Experience in sheet metal or production environments.
- Ability to load and unload materials efficiently.
- Order picking experience.

Work Environment
- Large, industrial warehouse originally designed for shipbuilding.
- “Old-school” setting with fluctuating temperatures due to frequent door activity—hot in summer, cold in winter.
- Requires steel‑toe boots with non‑detachable metatarsal covers.
- Schedule includes two 15‑minute breaks and a 30‑minute unpaid lunch.
- Off‑shift hires will train on 1st shift for up to one month.
- Safety training and paperwork are completed on the first day.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roseville, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $27.05/hr.
