Join a medium-sized company known for producing overhead cranes and engaging in job shop work, including the fabrication of systems up to 100ft long. As a Welder/Fabricator, you will be responsible for welding metal components using a variety of arc and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts, plant equipment, and both small and large structural weldments.
Responsibilities- Weld metal components together using brazing and various arc and gas welding equipment.
- Fabricate or repair products such as machine parts and plant equipment.
- Read and interpret prints, engineering drawings, written instructions, and manuals.
- Follow safety rules and ensure the use of PPE, including helmet, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toes.
- Operate forklifts, cranes, slings, and hooks proficiently.
- Lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical activities including crouching, standing, and twisting.
- Participate in assembly, fabrication, and paint preparation tasks, with approximately 40% of time spent welding.
- Contribute to crane assembly, not just welding.
- Proficiency in MIG welding with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals.
- Experience in fabrication for at least 3 years.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, cranes, slings, and hooks.
- Physical capability to lift 75 lbs and perform various physical activities.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience with TIG welding is a bonus, as the company is bidding on projects that may require it.
- Training will be provided for candidates willing to expand their skill set beyond welding to include machining, assembly, etc.

Work EnvironmentThe work environment involves regular exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals, making the use of PPE mandatory. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waite Park, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $29.00/hr.
