Welder / Fabricator

Join a medium-sized company known for producing overhead cranes and engaging in job shop work, including the fabrication of systems up to 100ft long. As a Welder/Fabricator, you will be responsible for welding metal components using a variety of arc and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts, plant equipment, and both small and large structural weldments.

• Weld metal components together using brazing and various arc and gas welding equipment.
• Fabricate or repair products such as machine parts and plant equipment.
• Read and interpret prints, engineering drawings, written instructions, and manuals.
• Follow safety rules and ensure the use of PPE, including helmet, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toes.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, slings, and hooks proficiently.
• Lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical activities including crouching, standing, and twisting.
• Participate in assembly, fabrication, and paint preparation tasks, with approximately 40% of time spent welding.
• Contribute to crane assembly, not just welding.

• Proficiency in MIG welding with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals.
• Experience in fabrication for at least 3 years.
• Proficiency in operating forklifts, cranes, slings, and hooks.
• Physical capability to lift 75 lbs and perform various physical activities.

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with TIG welding is a bonus, as the company is bidding on projects that may require it.
• Training will be provided for candidates willing to expand their skill set beyond welding to include machining, assembly, etc.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waite Park, MN.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $29.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Waite Park,MN.
