Semiconductor Manufacturing – Wafer & Sensor Production

We are seeking a skilled Lapping Machine Operator to join a growing semiconductor manufacturing team specializing in wafers and sensors. This role involves hands-on precision work with advanced micro‑assembly equipment in a clean, organized, and high‑tech environment.

Position Overview

As a Lapping Machine Operator, you will operate wafer dicing and wafer lapping equipment, perform micro‑assembly onto chips, and work with advanced tools including automatic wire bonders and inspection equipment. This position requires strong attention to detail, comfort working under microscopes, and the ability to follow documented quality procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate wafer dicing and wafer lapping machines with high precision
• Use automatic wire bonding equipment
• Perform micro‑assembly onto chips and handle precision materials
• Conduct quality control verification and complete documentation
• Utilize microscopes, testing tools, measurement devices, and inspection equipment

Essential Skills

• 1+ year of experience machining high‑precision, tight‑tolerance components
• Experience with quality verification and documentation
• Proficiency with microscopes and measurement/inspection tools
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• US Citizenship required (ITAR compliance)
• Strong attention to detail and comfort handling delicate materials

Additional Preferred Skills

• Experience in wafer dicing or wafer lapping
• Soldering experience
• Wire bonding experience (highly desirable)

Work Environment

• Exceptionally clean, structured environment with an R&D‑influenced atmosphere led by a PhD owner
• Facility includes a machine shop area, cleanroom, lab area, and general assembly spaces
• Quiet, focused workspace encouraging initiative and multitasking
• Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with occasional overtime
• Some flexibility available, though consistent schedules are preferred

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of White Bear Lake, MN.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
