Job Title: Medical Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team in an office setting, primarily focused on telephonic and in-basket messaging. The role involves taking patient calls and coordinating with the RN staff to determine the appropriate direction for patient needs. A significant part of the role, approximately 75%, involves taking provider orders for Durable Medical Equipment requests, particularly for sleep disorders where patients are issued CPAP Machines for Sleep Apnea Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient calls and relay details to RN staff.
• Focus on taking provider orders for Durable Medical Equipment requests.
• Manage requests primarily related to sleep disorders and CPAP Machines for Sleep Apnea Therapy.
• Ensure detailed and accurate communication with healthcare providers.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Epic software.
• Experience in case management.
• Knowledge of prior authorization processes.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with current BLS certification.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Neurology experience is not required but can be beneficial.

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with shifts either from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM or from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The role provides a great opportunity to gain a foothold in a reputable organization.
