Job Title: Quality Supervisor
Job DescriptionAs a Quality Supervisor, you will oversee the quality control inspectors during your assigned shift. This role involves handling all personnel and policy-related matters. You will ensure that teams adhere to established procedures for addressing quality control issues promptly by providing on-the-floor support. You will also coordinate the control of products during inspection and disposition, including making critical decisions such as halting production or holding products when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a team of 3-4 quality control inspectors.
- Ensure compliance with quality control procedures and timely issue resolution.
- Coordinate product inspection and disposition processes.
- Lead initial investigations into production issues and non-conformances.
- Assign tasks and manage schedules under the guidance of the QA Manager.
- Train new quality control employees on testing procedures and safety practices.
- Manage daily quality assurance activities in manufacturing and product inspection.
- Provide feedback and recommend procedural improvements to management.
- Implement testing procedures as per managerial guidance and industry standards.
- Perform quality control inspection duties when necessary, including measurements and visual inspections.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in quality assurance and control processes.
- Experience with inspection tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience in root cause analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to investigate non-conformances.
- 3-10 years of quality experience in an FDA-regulated field, preferably in medical devices or pharmaceuticals.
- High School Diploma.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Quality mindset and strong leadership skills.
- Experience in quality leadership roles (Team Lead/Supervisor) for at least 2 years.
- Familiarity with personnel management and handling personnel issues.
Work Environment
The facility is large and divided into various areas based on product types such as disposable, reusable, device, and chemical mixing. It is a clean and compliant environment. The role involves spending significant time on the production or receiving floor, with temperature-controlled conditions. You will be on your feet for most of your shift. The shift schedule is Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with occasional interaction with the 3rd shift as needed. Initial training will be conducted on the first shift for the first 3-4 weeks.
