Hiring CNC Lead / Pays up to 43/HR

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced CNC Lead to develop programs using MasterCam for CNC vertical and horizontal milling centers. This role involves applying machine shop theory, shop mathematics, and layout techniques to ensure high-quality production outcomes. As a CNC programmer, you will lead machinists by providing guidance and expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Develop programs using MasterCam for new parts on three, four, and five axis machines.
  • Program and set up CNC vertical and horizontal milling centers.
  • Program 5th axis machines and parts using Fanuc controls.
  • Interpret technical drawings and set up machines accordingly.
  • Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications.
  • Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality.
  • Consider tools required to cut particular materials and program machines accordingly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and sharpening.
  • Develop fixture design and processes for the production of parts.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives for existing and continuous production parts.
  • Ensure the work area is clean, secure, and organized.
  • Maintain consistent communication with peers and management.
  • Stay updated on industry processes and tool information.
  • Train new employees on CNC machine operations and programs.
  • Follow established processes and quality and safety standards.
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years' experience programming in MasterCam and 5th axis machines/parts.
  • Experience in using and programming manual, semi-automated, or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders, mills, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings/blueprints and follow routers.
  • Knowledge of metal properties and other materials.
  • Outstanding mathematical and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required, vocational school or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Available to work weekends and overtime.

Work Environment

The work environment involves prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, with the capability to stand for extended periods. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times and possess visual abilities such as close/distant, color, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Grandview, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62000.00 - $83200.00/yr.
