Lab Assistant

*Overnight Shift: 6P-6A


Job Description

As a Lab Assistant, you will conduct daily batch and physical testing for manufacturing operations, utilizing standard chemical assays according to established protocols. You will operate laboratory computers, analytical instrumentation, and systems, including troubleshooting and performing calibrations as needed. You will perform incoming raw material testing, compare analytical results to benchmarks, and verify the quality of received components. Additionally, you will document analytical data, audit information, logs, and specifications using appropriate data management systems, ensuring compliance with company policy.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily batch and physical testing for manufacturing operations using standard chemical assays.
  • Operate and troubleshoot laboratory computers, analytical instrumentation, and systems.
  • Perform incoming raw material testing and verify quality against established benchmarks.
  • Document analytical data, audit information, logs, and specifications in compliance with company policy.
  • Assist in investigating non-chemical material anomalies on the manufacturing floor.
  • Support plant trial requests as necessary.
  • Adhere to good laboratory practices for safe chemical handling.
  • Perform cleaning and housekeeping tasks in the lab and on analytical equipment.
  • Collaborate with chemists to perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Ensure regular and predictable attendance.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of experience in a lab or testing environment using wet chemistry procedures.
  • Experience in a laboratory setting (Medical, Manufacturing, Food, etc.).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and calibrate equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in chemical handling and batch testing.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of HPLCs is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules as needed.
  • Demonstrate adaptability to change.
  • Open to candidates with or without a degree.
